Service Description

This 1-2-1 introductory course is designed for individuals who are new to photography and want to develop a solid foundation in understanding their camera and mastering the fundamental principles of photography. This personalized course offers an exclusive learning experience tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each participant. This will be held outdoors using natural light. Location will be discussed in advance with the participant. Course Structure: The course consists of one-on-one sessions conducted by Lou Sutton, who will guide you through the process of unlocking the full potential of your camera. Each session is carefully crafted to provide a comprehensive understanding of the essential concepts and techniques required to capture stunning images. By the end of this course, participants will: Gain In-Depth Knowledge of Camera Functions: Understand the various settings and controls on your camera, including aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and focus modes. Learn how to navigate the menus and utilize different shooting modes effectively. Master Exposure Triangle: Discover the relationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO to achieve proper exposure. Learn how to control depth of field, freeze or blur motion, and reduce noise in your images. Comprehend Composition Techniques: Develop an eye for composition and learn to create visually compelling photographs. Explore principles such as rule of thirds, leading lines, symmetry, framing, and perspective to enhance the impact of your images. Understand Light and Its' Impact: Learn to harness natural and artificial light to create mood, highlight subjects, and add depth to your photographs. Discover techniques for shooting in different lighting conditions and explore the concepts of exposure, dynamic range, and colour temperature. Explore Focusing and Depth of Field: Understand various focusing techniques and how to achieve accurate focus. Learn about depth of field and how it impacts your images, enabling you to create beautiful bokeh or maintain sharpness throughout the frame. Cancellation Policy

The remaining balance will be due in full on the day of this session. A 48hr notice must be given by the client to change session dates/times (subject to availability). Deposits - Your deposit will not be refunded but may be used for a future session. This option will not be available if full notice is not given. Availability - Dates for outdoor bookings are subject to change depending on the weather and the flowers' blooming dates (floral mini sessions). A refund on your deposit will not be issued if this occurs but you will have the option to move your session to the alternative date subjected by your photographer. All deposits are NON-REFUNABLE.
